ROTA is your Transit Authority for Riverbank and Oakdale.

ROTA is operated under a contract with Storer Transit Systems of Modesto, California. Storer provides the dispatchers, bus operators and mechanics. ROTA support staff is provided by the City of Riverbank, Public Works Department, which oversee the administration, marketing, planning and financial aspects in conjunction with the City of Oakdale.

ROTA began planning a transit system on September 26, 1993, when the cities of Riverbank and Oakdale formed a Joint Powers Authority for the provisions of transportation service within and between the cities. ROTA started with seven (7) 10-passenger cutaway buses that used gasoline fuel.

Today, ROTA has six (6) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) 13-passenger Dial-a-Ride,
1 - 14 passenger gasoline cutaway and two (2) dual fuel and one brand new CNG trolleys.
Riverbank and Oakdale are committed to Clean Air.

Board Meetings of the Riverbank-Oakdale Transit Authority are held on the second Tuesday of every other month at 3:00 p.m. (February, April, June, August, October, December) in alternating locations between the cities of Riverbank and Oakdale.

Bus Operator

Storer Transit Systems provides bus operators to operate transit services for the Riverbank-Oakdale Transit Authority (ROTA). Our training program is ongoing with classes being held on a monthly basis. Our training course consists of both classroom and behind-the-wheel training.
